VerSec enables fine grained control over the executables that can run on endpoint computers.
Access Control
Whether or not an application is allowed to run is determined by the unique file signature of the executable and the White or Black list type selected for the policy.
Blocking Unknown Executables
On a policy by policy basis unknown executables can be allowed to run or be blocked. If unknown executables are configured to be blocked, executable Malware, such as Viruses, Spyware, Worms and Trojans, are stopped from running, thus neutralizing any threat from Zero Day Virus Attacks. This has a major advantage over Antivirus software and Spyware removal tools in that new Malware is blocked automatically, where anti-virus software and spyware tools require their respective manufactures to release patterns to detect the new Malware - in the mean time infections occur, data is lost and corrupted and businesses loose money.
VerSec features such as Override codes and Away policies allow the security policy to automatically adapt to the endpoints current environment ensuring a high degree of business continuity and enforced security.
